Cawthon Addresses Health Leaders on Designing Accessible Communications

The 2023 Health Communication Leadership Institute (HCLI) will feature a presentation by Dr. Stephanie W. Cawthon on “Designing Accessible Health Communication Campaigns” on June 15, 2023.

An internationally-renowned expert on disability, accessibility, and inclusion, Dr. Cawthon will explain to health leaders:

  • How ableism is impacting their patients and colleagues

  • Why disability must be a part of diversity initiatives and messaging

  • What strategies can be used daily to improve accessibility for all

HCLI is the Center for Health Communication's premier professional education event that provides current and aspiring health communicators with best practices and strategies for leadership, management, and innovation. It is an in-person event with limited attendance that can ensure workshopping opportunities and deep dives into essential topics for health communicators.

The Center for Health Communications is housed at the Moody College of Communications and Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.
