Dell Medical School’s DEI Series to Feature Aug. 31 Presentation by Cawthon

As part of its mission to educate future physician leaders, Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin will begin its 2022-2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) seminar series on August 31 with a presentation by Dr. Stephanie Cawthon.

Her talk, Ableism, Accessibility, and Equity in the Workplace, will address three key points:

  • Understand different theoretical and practical definitions of disability

  • Identify ableism and how it is perpetrated in work environments

  • Identify strategies to both reduce ableism and increase accessibility in work environments

One (1) CEU will be available for LPCs, LCSWs, and PhDs/PsyDs. Dell Medical School’s DEI Series is online for students, faculty, and staff. It is organized and hosted by the college’s Cultural Diversity Committee.
